Monthly Progress Report – January 2006

The highlights of important developments that had taken place during January 2006  are as follows:

  Training Activities
 In-Campus Programmes

During the month, 21 In-Campus training programmes were conducted and these were attended by  488 participants. With these, as against the annual target of conducting 201 programmes in-campus, the total number of programmes conducted during the ten months period ended 31 Jan. 2006, stood at 171 with a total participation of 3820 personnel from various banks and other agencies. The average participation per programme works out to 23 for the month of January 2005. 

A Training-cum-Exposure visit to Bangladesh was conducted during the month from 5 to 16 January  2006. 

  On-location Programmes

A total of eight on location programmes were conducted  during the month of January 2006.  Out of this, 3 programmes  on Rural Godown and two on Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure were conducted in collaboration with  NIAM, Jaipur.  Similarly, 2 programmes on Personality Development and Team Building  were conducted for the officers of  Jabhua Dhar Kshetriya  Gramin Bank  and  N M Sadguru Water and Development Foundation, Gujarat.  

 
   Studies and Consultancies

Under an ongoing consultancy assignment from UCO Bank on amalgamation of RRBs sponsored by it, different teams of faculty members undertook field visits to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh during the month.  The consultancy report is likely to be presented during the second week of February 2006.

The final reports on Detailed Potential Survey of 3 districts in Bihar viz. Purnea, Bhojpur and Nalanda have since been forwarded to Bihar RO of NABARD.

   Other training programmes conducted in BIRD

A  customized training programme on Achievement Motivation for officials of Canara Bank was conducted during the month. 

 
   Pre-Dinner sessions

During the month, a pre-dinner session on `Personality Development ’ was handled by Dr (Ms) Janak Pant, Retired Professor, Psychology Department, Lucknow University on 18 January 2006.
