During the month, 23 training programmes were conducted with a participation of 550 (Average 23.9), which included two Trainers’ Training Programmes for capacity building of PACS functionaries under the Reform Package for Cooperatives. Under this package, so far we have trained 144 Master Trainers from 9 States and 38 officers from NABARD. With this, the total number of In-campus programmes conducted during the first four months of 2007-08 stood at 65 with a participation of 1327 (Average 20.4).

Customised Programmes: Two customised Programmes on Management of Change were conducted during the month for the officials of Baroda Eastern Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank covering 59 participants. |

Orientation Programmes for Chairmen / GMs/ RMs : An Orientation Programme for the newly appointed Chairmen of RRBs was conducted at the Institute during July 2007. New Chairmen from 22 RRBs participated in the programme. Another orientation programme for General Managers and Regional Managers of RRBs was conducted during the month with 26 participants. |

New Programmes: An exclusive programme on Management Development for women officers of RRBs was developed and conducted during the month. The programme received good response and was attended by 23 women officers. We also conducted new programmes on ‘Methods to tackle NPA and improve asset quality’ and ‘Marketing of Bank Products and Services’ for RRBs and Cooperatives. |
| Training needs of RRBs |
|
A quick assessment of Training Needs of RRBs was done by us by designing and circulating a simple format among all RRBs. The responses received by us have been compiled and are being used for marketing of our programmes. We are reviewing our programmes and planning for on-location programmes based on the responses received. We have also forwarded the compiled information to RTCs for their use.

The teams of Faculty Members identified to undertake the consultancy assignments awarded by MoRD, GoI and Tamil Nadu Forest Department have chalked out plans to commence field visits during August 2007.

The undersigned attended a one-day consultation with ‘Expert Institutions to explore the areas of cooperation and collaboration on Rural development Policy Formulations’ at NIRD, Hyderabad on 18 July 07.
