| Training Programmes |
|
During the month, 07 training programmes were conducted with 134 participants, which included 6 In-Campus and 1 On-location training programme.

| In-Campus Programmes |
|
|
With 6 In-Campus programmes attended by 105 participants, the average participation worked out to 17.5 per programme. This includes a Sensitisation Workshop on ODI for the CEOs of DCCBs / SCBs which was attended by 13 senior officers. |

On-location Programmes |
|
During the month, a GOPP workshop was conducted at Bikaner with 29 participants from different agencies. |

Consultancy Assignments |
During the month, two teams of 2 faculty members each visited Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal and commenced the consultancy assignments offered on: |

Other Developments |

We have since contracted to conduct a Study Tour on micro-enterprise development in India for the officials of Government of Sri-Lanka (Ministry of Regional Development) during 26 June to 8 July 2006. We have finalized the dates and schedule of the programme which will include exposure visits to units in North India besides In-Campus training inputs.

Shri S Balan, Joint Director attended the meeting of Training Establishments convened in CAB, Pune on 22 April 2006 in the context of the Committee on Financial Sector Plan for NE Region constituted by Reserve Bank of India. The objective of the meeting was to discuss various issues relating to capacity building of banks, financial institutions and other agencies in the North Eastern States.

Joint Director, BIRD attended the National Consultation on “Mainstreaming Social / Community Mobilisation Approach in Rural Development during 26-28 April 2006 at NIRD, Hyderabad. The Consultation was organized by NIRD at the instance of Ministry of Rural Development, GOI for dovetailing social mobilization approaches in rural development programmes. |

Shri P M Ghole, Faculty Member provided faculty support in the CAB-BIRD collaborative workshop for Non-official Directors of DCCBs held at CAB, Pune from 10 to 13 April 2006. |

Shri Narayan Patil, DGM attended a Consultation Workshop for Implementation of Revival Package for PACS in Maharashtra at Pune. |

| Faculty Development |
Training programmes on MS Excel and MS Power Point were conducted for our Faculty Members in the first week of April 2006 by the FMs of IT group of the Institute. The programmes were found to be very useful by all the faculty members who attended them. |
Out of the four Faculty Members who are under the orders of transfer, two faculty Members have since been relieved and the other two Faculty Members would be relieved as at the close of business on 12 May 2006 as indicated by HRMD, NABARD, Head Office. |

| Session Plans |
Session plans for the training programmes scheduled to be conducted in the first quarter of 2006-07 have been prepared and are being forwarded to NABARD HO as desired by them. |
