| Training Programmes |
|
As per the decision taken by the Governing Council in its 20th meeting, we forward herewith the progress report for the month of July 2006 for your kind perusal.

| In-Campus Programmes |
|
|
During the month, 14 In-Campus training programmes were conducted with 340 participants. This includes 2 Orientation Programmes conducted for the new DDMs with 38 participants. The average participation worked out to 24.3. With this, the total number of In-Campus programmes conducted during the year 2006-07 stood at 52 with a participation of 1272 (Average 24.5) as against 55 programmes with 1173 participants (average 21.3 per programme) during the corresponding period of the last year. |
Infrastructure and faculty support was extended to SIDBI for conducting a training programme for its officers on micro-finance during 25 to 29 July 2006. Similarly, UCO Bank would be conducting a training programme for its newly recruited officers in August 2006 utilising our infrastructure. BIRD would be providing faculty support for agricultural related topics. |
As a result of our efforts to increase the participation of commercial banks, we have received a request from Union Bank of India for conducting customised training programmes on Agriculture Financing to Rural Branch Managers in BIRD. We are proposing to conduct 4 programmes during the month of August-September 2006 to be attended by 150 participants. |

Faculty Development |

The undersigned and a Faculty Member attended the Faculty Development Programme conducted at Centre for International Development and Training at Telford, U.K. from 10 to 21 July 2006. |

Four new Faculty Members have been deputed for DTS programme at IIPA, New Delhi during 17-21 July 2006. |
| |
Shri P N Satya Prasad, FM has been deputed for DTS and DoT programme at Dr.MCR HRD Institute of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad being held from 31 July to 8 August 2006. |

Others |
A Faculty Meeting was held during the month. Faculty Members of BIRD handled 28 sessions in NBSC during the month.
