| Training Programmes |
|
As per the decision taken by the Governing Council in its 20th meeting, we forward herewith the progress report for the month of June 2006 for your kind perusal. |
|
| In-Campus Programmes |
|
|
During the month, 17 In-Campus training programmes were conducted with 466 participants. The average participation worked out to 27.4. The programmes conducted included a Sensitisation workshop for CEOs of Cooperative banks and a new programme on ‘Coverage of Tenant farmers and Oral Lessees’. With this, the total number of In-Campus programmes conducted during the first quarter of 2006-07 stood at 38 with a participation of 932 (Average 24.5) as against 35 programmes and a participation of 752 (Average 21.4) during the first quarter of 2005-06. Further, the participation of officials from cooperative banks has shown a sharp increase of 119% over the corresponding period in 2005-06. |

On-location Programmes |
|
A training programme on ‘Personality Development’ was conducted for the officials of Jhabua-Dhar RRB at their Chausala centre with 34 participants. |

|
Consultancy Assignments |
After completion of field visits relating to the two consultancy assignments awarded by CARE-CASHE, their reports were completed and forwarded to CARE-CASHE. 40% of the consultancy fee was also received during the month. |

Case Study |
Shri P C Chaudhri, FM visited Ahmedabad to prepare a case study on Rural Internet Kiosks. Another Case Study prepared on ‘Sneha MACS’ in AP in May 2006 was administered in the programme on Appraisal of MFIs conducted for NABARD officers during June 2006. |

Important Meetings |

The 15th meeting of finance committee was held on 26th June to discuss annual accounts, budget, change in depreciation policy from WDV to straight line method, purchase of capital assets, etc. It was attended by Ms Nita Chaudhary, IAS, Principal Secretary, Land and Watershed Development Department, GoUP, Shri Y L Sapra, CGM, NABARD RO UP, Shri S G Rathod, Principal, NBSC, Lucknow and Shri Sukhbeer Singh, CGM as a special invitee. |

Shri G R Chintala and Shri P N Satyaprasad, Faculty Members presented the final consultancy report on ‘Statewise Amalgamation of RRBs’ to the top management of UCO bank. The bank has decided to implement our recommendations and requested us to hold meetings with employees and stakeholders of the amalgamated entities and brief them of the recommendations.

Shri R K Thanvi, FM participated in a preparatory meeting on longitudinal survey of SHGs arranged by CARE. The representatives of IFMR, APMAS and CFM – SRTT also attended the meeting.

Faculty Meetings were held on three occasions during the month. Important items like preparation of annual report, session plans, quality of training programmes, etc. were discussed. Discussions were also held on fresh avenues for conducting overseas exposure visits. |

| Faculty Development |
Two new faculty members have reported on transfer from Karnataka Regional Office of NABARD and NABARD Head Office respectively. These faculty members are being deputed for DTS and DOT programmes to be conducted by GOI during July 2006. |
