| Training Programmes |
|
During the month, 15 In-Campus training programmes were conducted with 361 participants. The average participation worked out to 24 during the month. The programmes conducted included a Workshop for LDMs conducted by BIRD in collaboration with CAB, Pune and a ‘workshop on repositioning of rural credit for senior officials’ from Commercial Banks. A programme on funds and investment management for Chairmen and GMs of RRBs is being conducted at the Institute. It is being attended by 14 senior functionaries. |

Consultancy Assignments |
The field visits relating to the two consultancy assignments awarded by CARE-CASHE were completed during the month. The reports for the same are ready. |

| Important Meetings |
The Chairman, Governing Council visited Lucknow and addressed the faculty members of BIRD, NBSC, NBTC along with officers of UPRO of NABARD.
|
Shri M S Jairath, Director, NIAM visited BIRD on 12 May 2006 to discuss the modalities of collaborative training programmes to be conducted by BIRD on behalf of NIAM during 2006-07. He also discussed the need for conducting case studies relating to the rural godown and agri-marketing infrastructure. |
| Faculty Meetings were held on two occasions during the month. Important items like preparation of annual report, session plans, quality of training programmes, etc. were discussed. |

| Faculty Development |
During the month, Shri R V Swamy and Shri S K Garg, Faculty Members attended Basic Labs on Human Processes conducted by Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Sciences (ISABS). |
| Two new faculty members have reported on transfer from Kerala Regional Office of NABARD and NABARD Head Office respectively. They will be deputed for DTS and DOT programmes conducted by GOI as soon as the schedule is received for the same. |

| Session Plans |
| Session plans in respect of 34 programme titles have been prepared and forwarded to NABARD HO for their information. The session plans for the remaining programmes are under preparation. |
