Training Needs Identification of State Government Officials of Jharkhand State was undertaken jointly by Joint Director, BIRD and Vice-Principal, NBSC. A proposal to organise few programmes for various cadres of officers of Government of Jharkhand (GoJ) is under consideration. Arrangements are also being firmed up to conduct an on-site sensitisation
programme for the senior officers of GoJ. |

A study was undertaken to assess the Training Needs of Cooperative Banks in Uttaranchal State. The study report has indicated that project lending, NPA & recovery management and attitudinal reorientation are the training priorities at the branch level. The need for sensitisation
programmes on business development, loan diversification and profit planning strategies for senior officials has also been emphasised in the report. |

Quick field studies were conducted in Lakhimpur Kheri, Bardhaman, Medinipur, Vidisha and Gwalior districts on Doubling of Agricultural Credit. |

Quick studies were conducted in Sarayu, Sree Anantha and Tungabhadra Gramin Banks to indentify the benchmarking process and best practices adopted by these banks for wider dissemination across the industry in the Workshops on Performance Standards and Effectiveness of RRBs
conducted in January/February 2005. These studies have indicated that good governance, qualitative internal control mechanisms, credit orientation and targeting market share have enabled them post outstanding results. |
