CARE, India had awarded two consultancy assignments to BIRD during the year, which were completed successfully within the allocated timeframe. In addition, a supplementary consultancy assignment was undertaken and completed during the year on behalf of UCO Bank. It involved sensitization of the staff and management of their RRBs about the findings and outcome of an assignment undertaken by BIRD during 2005-06 to study the process of amalgamation of the RRBs and issues emerging from them and preparation of a roadmap for their sustainable operations. |

During the year, 27 tailor-made programmes on various topics ranging from Business Development, Change Management, Personality Development, Project financing, Funds and Investment Management, etc. were conducted for different banks like Union Bank of India, Baroda Eastern UP Gramin Bank, UPSCB, Gurgaon Gramin Bank, Jhabua Dhar Gramin Bank, Pragathi Gramin Bank, Baroda-Rajasthan RRB and Narmada Malwa Gramin Bank, etc. |

The ISO 9001:2000 certification awarded to BIRD by BSI Management Systems India Pvt Ltd. of BSI Group, UK in December 2005, was renewed in December 2006. |

In addition to the entry-exit tests conducted for participants and the gain ratios arrived at for different programmes which present a fair picture of the knowledge gained during the programme, a system of rating of programmes was introduced to enable the Institute to get a feedback on the quality and effectiveness of training programmes. This is in keeping with the institute’s objective of achieving continual improvements and ensuring customer satisfaction. |
