During the month, 18 training programmes were conducted with a participation of 387 (Average 21.5), which included a programme on Asset Liability Management for Chairman and General Managers of RRBs and Orientation Programme (phase II) for new DDMs of NABARD. With this, the total number of In-campus programmes conducted during the period 01 April 2007 to 31 December 2007 stood at 135 with a participation of 3055. |
| New Programme |

Three new programmes on Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering, Managing Non-SLR Investments and IT in Banking were conducted during the month with participation of 16,14 and 15 respectively from various RRBs and cooperative banks. The programme on Asset Liability Management for Chairmen and GMs of RRBs was also newly designed programme to meet the contemporary requirements of senior officers. The programme was well received and attended by 30 senior officers from different RRBs. |
| On-location Programmes |

During the month, a seminar on Business Development was conducted at Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh for officers of Prathama Gramin Bank and Gurgaon Gramin Bank. The programme was attended by 40 offficers from these two RRBs. |
| Consultancy Assignments |
|
Final report of the consultancy assignment on the ‘Coverage of SC/ST under SGSY’ awarded by MoRD, GOI is under preparation. Draft report of the same has been forwarded to the ministry. |
|
Two of our faculty members made presentations to the Tamil Nadu Forestry Department on consultancy assignment awarded by them on ‘Trainers Training for Tamil Nadu Afforestation Project’. Based on the feedback received final the report is being prepared. |

Conferences/ Meetings |
|
The first meeting of the Working Group on Capacity Building Requirements of RRB Personnel held on 13 December 2007 at NABARD Head Office, Mumbai. The Working Group is headed by Shri Amaresh Kumar, ED, NABARD. As per the decision taken in the meeting we have dispatched the questionnaires designed for collection of training related information to RRBs and Sponsor Banks. |

Dr K C Sharma and Dr S D Kulkarni, faculty members attended a National level Workshop on Dynamics of Watershed Development and Sustainable Rural Livelihood at NIRD, Hyderabad from 26th to 28th December 2007. |

Infrastructure Hiring |
Training infrastructure of BIRD was hired out to the following institutions for conduct of various programmes : |

World Women Banking (WWB) a New York based foundation working mainly on capacity building efforts of MFIs world over with focus on poor women conducted a three-day training programme during 6-8 December 2007 on ‘How To Successfully Introduce Individual Lending’. The programme was conducted by three FMs from WWB and was attended by 13 participants from various MFIs from India and Sri Lanka as also one participant from NABARD.

SIDBI conducted a training programme on Micro credit for their officers during 10-15 December 2007. 25 officers from SIDBI participated in the programme. |
|
Fertiliser and Pesticide Quality Control Lab, Lucknow organised a two-day National Conference on Fertiliser Quality control during 19-20 December 2007. 120 delegates from government organisations, fertiliser industry, scientific institutions participated in the conference.

Dena Bank hired our infrastructure for conducting interviews for recruitment of probationary officers in their Bank. |
